L'Occitane Pivoine Sublime Skin Perfecting Collection

IMG_9548

IMG_9547
We all know the peony flower is incredible pretty but who knew it was incredibly powerful as well?! This new beauty range from L'Occitane harnesses the innovative benefits of peony extract and gives us a lovely, skin-perfecting collection all containing this star ingredient (rich in natural plant sugars) which helps correct irregularities in the skin's texture over the long term to reveal a fresher and more radiant complexion.

There are quite a few new products in this face care collection, from toners, CC creams and lip balms,  that are worth taking a look at but I have been testing out the three skincare products below and am keen to share my thoughts. Firstly I have to say the packaging gets a huge thumbs up from me - pink, pretty and eye-catching and I love the fact that the makeup remover has a pump dispenser (its the little things!)

The 2 in 1 Perfecting Scrub (£19) is a gentle scrub with delicate micro-granules and micro-exfoliant active ingredients which work at removing dead skin cells and impurities. The texture is really unique too. It comes out the tube as a gel but as you apply it to your skin, it transforms into an oil so does wonders at cleansing the skin as well as exfoliating it. The best part is it can also be used as a mask to deep cleanse and purify your complexion.

The Perfecting Makeup Remover (£19) is a refreshing gel that is easily pumped onto a cotton wool pad to remove even the most stubborn of makeup, including waterproof mascara. It feels light and fresh on the skin and easily melts away the day's heavy foundation, blusher and matte lipstick. It is enhanced with active ingredients that also help transform the quality of the skin's surface so your complexion is left feeling luminous and supple, not dry or stripped at all.

Finally the Perfecting Toner (£15) is a gentle toner that is the perfect ending to your skin regime. It revives the complexion with natural balancing actives and the peony extract leaves your skin hydrated with a smoother, more radiant appearance. I really like this toner and love the way in makes my skin feel at the end of a long day - so clean, healthy and hydrated.

Are you a fan of L'Occitane skincare products? I would love to know if you have tried anything from the Pivoine Sublime range?

Kiehl's 24 Hour Revive & Replenish Set

IMG_9424
IMG_9414

Kiehl's are renowned for two of their most popular, best-selling skincare products - a duo of facial oils which will support skin's natural protection and repair cycles from dawn to dusk and through the night. Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate and their Midnight Recovery Concentrate are two super skin solutions if you are looking for a comprehensive, 24 hour system to promote healthier, smoother and more radiant looking skin.

Previously these two products were sold separately (£37 each) but I have some exciting news for anyone looking to introduce these facial oils into their skincare stash - they are now being sold as a set for the first time for £59 (Currently out of stock on the Kiehl's website but available from House of Fraser if you click quick!)

The Daily Reviving Concentrate is a lightweight oil that is applied to the skin in the morning after cleansing and before your moisturiser and makeup. It is devised to help strengthen the skin barrier to boost its defensive activity during the day. It contains Sunflower Seed Oil to ensure water retention and Ginger Root Essential Oil which has anti-oxidant benefits to help prevent daily damage. This concentrate is paraben and mineral oil free and feels light and non-greasy on the skin. A few drops sink in quickly and makes my complexion feel smooth and refined, making my makeup sit really well on my skin.

The Midnight Recovery Concentrate is a lovely night time oil which helps your skin repair and recover as you get your beauty sleep. I apply this as my final step after cleansing and toning in the evening. It includes Evening Primrose Oil which has soothing skin benefits and also lavender, geranium, rosemary and rose essential oils which have a high penetration profile and boosts the skin's healing activities. This oil smells divine and I wake up feeling like my skin has been nourished and treated to facial overnight!

Have you tried these two, super skin saviours?

Foreo Luna Play Mini Face Brush

IMG_9503
Screen Shot 2016-05-12 at 11.16.26
The Foreo Luna Play - a mini t-sonic cleansing device (£29) - available online

It's cute. It's pink. It's mini (macaroon-sized in fact!) and it is the fun, affordable intro into the amazing skin benefits of t-sonic cleansing. This teeny but powerful little silicone device is the baby version of the Foreo Luna which I have previously spoke about here and is a great way to test drive sonic technology without committing to the large price tag.

The Luna Play has been devised for all skin types. The soft, flexible bristles won't irritate the skin like some oscillating brushes can do and the sonic pulses gently vibrate the skin meaning it is gentle...but highly effective. The main aim of the Luna Play is to improve the effectiveness of your cleanser by removing dead skin cells, unclogging pores and clearing away makeup residue to leave you with an oh-so touchable, smooth complexion. I like using this with my cleanser in the evenings but you could also use it with a face wash or cleansing oil if this fits in better with your skincare regime.

Those little rubbery nodules vary in size to suit different areas of your face - the finer ones are perfect for cleansing sensitive and normal skin whereas of the thicker touch points towards the top are ideal for giving your t-zone a deep cleanse. Another great thing about the Luna Play is how easy it is to clean - the design of the device means there is nowhere for bacteria and grime to hide so a quick rinse under a hot tap will ensure it stays hygienically clean ready for your next use.

The only downside to this mini version of the Foreo Luna is its lifespan. Unlike the bigger version, this dinky device is only limited to 100 uses and once the battery has run out then you cannot recharge or replace it. This might disappoint some people but for £29 I think this is quite a good deal. If you are using it once every other day you will still get... (quick maths in my head!) nearly 7 months use out of it. The idea of the Luna Play is convenience. It is the perfect solution for popping in your holiday bag for your Summer trips this year, without worrying about the hassle of cables and adapters, and is the ideal solution is you are intrigued by sonic technology but don't want to break the bank by buying the bigger version just yet. It is the perfect little skincare tester and I think you might just love it as much as I do!

Pai Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream

IMG_9493
IMG_9495
IMG_9492
I love a bit of Pai Skincare and my skincare stash always seems to have one or two pots and tubes from this lovely brand lurking within the depths of my drawer! Pai Skincare is all about understanding the needs of sensitive skin and delivering the best performing products created with the highest quality organic actives at the heart of them. I have tried several of their creams and lotions but it has been the first time I have tested out one of their hero products - the Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream* (£34).

Now I am a big fan of Pai's moisturisers so had high hopes that this day cream would be as dreamy as the others I had tried, and I was not disappointed. The Chamomile & Rosehip Calming Day Cream combines the very best of these ingredients to create a gentle but highly effective moisturiser that is a joy to use. If you suffer from redness, temperamental or irritated skin then this cream could be perfect for you. The powerful anti-inflammatory and reparative properties instantly soothe and calm any flare ups and reduce visible redness and irritation. The formula feels light and silky and is absorbed quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky or greasy residue. I felt that this cream gave my skin a real hydration boost (which is perfect during this hot weather when skin can feel dry, tight and lacklustre) and the combination of German Chamomile and Rosehip helps regenerate and restore skin back to a healthy, radiant and clear complexion. The perfect answer to hyper-sensitive skin.

As you would expect, all Pai Skincare products are vegan friendly and cruelty free and the brand has a whole host of celebrity fans! Natalie Portman is a particular advocate for this Calming Cream...and well, if its good enough for Natalie...!

Which Pai Skincare products are you loving at the moment?

Bobbi Brown Face Masks & Extra Lip Tint

IMG_8496
IMG_8501
IMG_8502
We all know that to achieve the best, most flawless makeup, it needs the best base possible. Keeping your skin rejuvenated and restored will ultimately give you a great canvas to apply your makeup onto and keep it looking fresh throughout the day. A good face mask is a brilliant option to give your skin some much needed TLC and Bobbi Brown have recently released a trio of new face masks which could be the answer to all your skin worries - whether you need to detox, nourish or give your radiance a boost.

The Instant Detox Mask* (£33) is a clarifying, clay-based formula which helps detoxify the skin by removing impurities and pollutants. A unique blend of Hawaiian Sea Water and mineral-rich Amazonian White Clay work in harmony to extract toxins whilst maintaining moisture and reducing the appearance of pores. This mask is tough yet gentle at the same time and doesn't leave your skin feeling dry or stripped. Applied to slightly damp skin, let the mask dry for five minutes or so before rinsing off. It can be used once a week to help reveal nourished, fresh and healthy looking skin.

The Skin Nourish Mask* (£33) is enriched with moisture magnets and is super-creamy and lightweight to quench dry skin and sustained moisture. The cocktail of hydrating emollients, natural oils and water give skin a smoother, plumper look and will help nourish your complexion over time. The Coral Grass, a hydrating aquatic herb, distributes moisture whilst Chlorella Extract helps increase natural collagen production to give your skin a more luminous, revitalised appearance. Apply liberally on skin and allow absorption before tissuing off excess product. Then gently massage the remaining mask into the skin for intense moisturisation. This gentle formula can be used up to three times a week to help repair skin's natural moisture barrier and reduce the look of fine, dry lines.

Finally the Radiance Boost Mask* (£33) is an instant boost for glowing skin. The formula helps to gently smooth, re-texturise and soften skin's appearance to reveal a more even, fresh-faced complexion. This mask contains superfine walnut grain beads to gently exfoliate dead skin cells and improve microcirculation to reveal a smoother, healthier and more radiant complexion. Kaolin Clay reduces excess oil build up and Algae Extract helps nourish skin to prevent stripping. A hint of Orange Oil further energises skin and revitalises the senses as the mask works. Perfect for once a week use, or as much needed, this mask is best applied onto damp skin, left on for a few minutes before rinsing off whilst gentling massaging in to increase the exfoliation action.

So that's your skin sorted but what about your lips? Keeping your pout soft and nourished is key to keeping your lipstick looking flake-free and fabulous so Bobbi Brown has introduced the new, limited edition Extra Lip Tint (£25) which smoothes and softens lips while imparting a sheer pink stain to enhance the natural colour of lips. It is infused with Olive Oil Complex, Vitamin E and C and Babassu Palm Seed Oil to help treat and relieve distressed lips instantly whilst reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.

What do you think of these latest skin-loving and lip-conditioning products from Bobbi Brown?

Clarins Energy, Repair & Detox Boosters

IMG_8558
IMG_8561
Clarins Boosters for the Skin* £30 | available very soon online

I am really really excited about this new launch from Clarins as they set to reinvent the art of skincare by giving us three turbo charged formulations to boost the skin. You may recognise the design of these small but mighty bottles as they are very similar in look and function as the amazing Radiance-Plus Golden Glow Booster that transforms your moisturiser to a self-tan with just a few drops. These new skin boosters work on the same premise. With 3-5 drops added to your moisturiser, face mask or foundation they offer you the perfect, made-to-measure beauty solution to combat fatigued, weakened or congested skin.

Booster Energy is an energised, caring solution for fatigued skin. This highly concentrated formula contains ginseng extract, a legendary Chinese medicinal plant known for its stimulating properties, which tones and re-energises skin. It helps combat signs of fatigue and revives radiance so is perfect to remedy those late nights and long haul travels where skin looks and feels a tad lacklustre.

Booster Repair is a caring solution for weakened skin. The ultra-concentrated formula contains mimosa tenuiflora extract, known for its repairing properties, so reduces feelings of discomfort and redness. This would therefore be a must-have for your travel bag as it can help ease the effects of sunburn, extreme climates and hard, salt or chlorinated water.

Booster Detox is your answer for congested skin. The highly enriched formula contains green coffee extract, a plant from tropical Africa high in caffeine and known for its detoxifying properties. This booster helps detoxify and purify the skin to revive radiance and plump the skin so it an essential following some heavy partying, overindulgence or extreme pollution.

I simply love the idea of bespoke skincare to fit with your own skin's needs which might change on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. With these fab boosters you can chop and change your type of skincare to fit in with whatever life throws at you - the late night party, the nine hour flight, the sleepless night or the salty sea water from your holidays. Which booster is your skin crying out for at the moment?

IMG_8022
A limited edition treat for your skin from Pai (£22) | Christmas gift sets available online

This Christmas Pai Skincare are celebrating sensitive skin and wrapping up all their hero products and bestsellers in a range of limited edition, specifically commissioned packaging that is perfect for a sophisticated stocking filler or pre-Christmas treat for you or a friend to get your skin party-ready! No glitz or sparkles here, just gorgeous, eye-catching designs encasing some of Pai's most adored and acclaimed products including the Camellia & Rose Gentle Cleanser, Lotus & Orange BioAffinity Tonic and this cult classic, the Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil.

Ideal for all ages and skin types, this facial oil is an absolute beauty cabinet essential and I cannot believe it has taken me so long to add this to my skincare saviours. So what does this oil do? Well, what doesn't it do?! Containing Rosehip (the ultimate skin multi-tasker) and Omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, it deeply conditions the skin, improving firmness and elasticity as well as evening out skin tone.  It refines the appearance of damaged skin and fine lines as well as nurturing your complexion back to its healthiest and most vibrant condition. I love a good face oil and will reach for one a few times a week whenever my skin feels a bit lacklustre and in need of a certain boost. Some of my favourites are the Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil and the Clinique Smart Treatment Oil, but after using this for a few weeks, I would happily add this to my list of favourites also. I love the limited edition packaging of all these festive treats too and think they would make beautiful gifts or stocking fillers for any other beauty lovers like me!

My Bobbi Brown Skincare Favourites

IMG_8074
IMG_8079
IMG_8082
Bobbi Brown is highly regarded for many of their famed beauty products - the gel eyeliner, those gorgeous shimmer bricks and the versatile pot rouges. But I always find one area of their extensive repertoire that gets overlooked sadly is their skincare range. From moisturisers, eye creams, makeup removers, lip balms and primers, Bobbi Brown has it all sorted whilst ensuring ever product is specifically formulated to create the perfect canvas for our makeup to follow.

Two particular products I have been loving recently from the Bobbi Brown skincare range is the Vitamin Enriched Face Base* (£39) and the Hydrating Eye Cream* (£32) - two of Bobbi's personal essentials which makes me love them even more! The Vitamin Enriched Face Base is a must for anyone who wants to save a few precious seconds in the morning as it work as a face moisturiser and makeup primer, in one. It is oil-free and has a lovely fresh-scented formula that smoothes over the skin including any pores or blemishes, giving you a flawless base ready for your foundation. The texture is rich, luscious and creamy without being too heavy or greasy but you do only need a little bit so this tub will definitely last me a few months. I like to use this in the morning even if I am having a no-makeup kinda day and it makes my skin feel incredibly plumped and cushiony thanks to the Shea butter and vitamins B, C and E. The grapefruit and geranium extracts gives this face base a wonderful, uplifting scent and is ideal for normal to oily skin types to use every day.

The Hydrating Eye Cream is a quick-to-absorb eye cream that melts into the under-eye area, prepping and smoothing the skin ready for concealer. Formulated with Bobbi's signature Enriched Mineral Water Blend - it hydrates, balances and revives skin whilst the aloe vera and witch hazel extract adds a touch of comfort and the Jojoba Seed and Avocado Oil condition the delicate area under your eyes. Again I like to use this in the morning, just after the Vitamin Enriched Face Base, by gently patting a little amount under my eyes. The lightweight formula means it is quickly absorbed and definitely makes a difference in how smoothly and flawlessly my concealer applies. It also helps it last throughout the day without creases or rubbing off and I also know the cream is doing my skin some good at the same time, so is a double bonus!

What are your favourite picks from the Bobbi Brown skincare range?

Four Fab Skincare Saviours

IMG_7331
IMG_7345
IMG_7347
IMG_7342
My skincare collection seems to be expanding at an alarming rate at the moment and sometimes things can get all a little overwhelming! With a brimming bathroom cabinet and more moisturisers than I dare to count I thought I would try and condense things a little - for my own sanity and for the sake of the shelves heaving under the weight of my beauty arsenal! So here's a quick round up of four fabulous products that I seem to be reaching for time and time again!

The skin smoother...
Claudia Louch Mint Exfoliating Facial Polish (£59) This is one of the newest products to join the cracking Claudia Louch skincare range and is a gentle face exfoliator that polishes and smooths skin for a mild to deep cleanse. Suitable for all skin types, this facial polish is a luxurious mix of plant extracts such as apricot oils, lemon, apple, aloe vera, green tea, seaweed and sugar cane. The formula is quite fluid with very finely-milled particles suspended inside to slough away any dry skin for instantly smoother and more radiant skin. It is best applied alone to dry, cleansed skin or mixed with a cleanser lotion for a gentler, two-in-one exfoliation and cleanse. It is mighty pricey but does do the job very well!

The glow-giver...
Oskia Get Up & Glow Radiance Booster (£64.50) Described as a "radiance, energy and protection booster", this lightweight, fluid serum promises to recharge your beauty batteries with a loving dose of active ingredients and nutrients. It is one of those awesome skincare products that can be used in a few ways - either at night after cleansing and right before you moisturise, in the morning as a glow-giving primer or throughout the day over makeup to brighten and perk up dry skin and patchy areas. It gives skin a revitalised, healthy, smooth appearance as well as protecting it from everyday stressors and free radicals. This is a beautiful product that literally glows through the glass bottle it sits in with a glorious illuminated quality that is definitely reflected in your complexion after a few good uses.

The saviour whilst you sleep...
REN Wake Wonderful Night-Time Facial (£32) Fancy waking up with transformed skin that is visibly brighter, more luminous and defined with an even tone? I certainly do! This new overnight treatment facial cream from REN does exactly what it says on the tin tube and works its magic as you sleep to leave you waking up, feeling wonderful. Whilst you are busy snoozing, the night-time facial is busy fulfilling its three phase process - first the exfoliating effect with the acid/enzyme complex to exfoliate and bright. Next the Glycogen and Magnesium kick in revitalise and boost skin cell vitality. Finally Sodium Lactate gradually raises the skin's PH leaving it feeling rejuvenated, plump and moisturised. It is truly amazing!

The moisturising mask...
Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Rapid Radiance Mask (£30) This is the ultimate skin-pick-me-up that can be used a few times a week to give your complexion a boost. This is best for you if your skin is suffering from the dreaded three Ds - dullness, dryness or dehydration. The creamy formula is packed full of Omegas as well as Rosehip to restore skin and Strawberry Leaf extract that has an energising effect that illuminates and refines the skin's texture. Simply slather it on, leave for 8-10 minutes then gently remove with the warm, damp muslin cloth enclosed. My skin feels incredibly soft and dewy after using this and the calming botanicals help soothe any redness or irritation. Just lovely!

I would love to hear what skincare essentials you are loving at the minute...not that I need to add any more to my overflowing collection!

My Mum-to-be Skincare Saviours

IMG_7262
IMG_7270
IMG_7271
IMG_7273
Pregnancy is definitely a minefield with a whole host of 'dos' and 'don'ts' - you can spend as long thinking about what you are putting in your body as what you are putting on your body and can leave you in quite a tizz! Not long after I found out I was pregnant, my thoughts turned to finding some new skincare products that were specifically designed for mums-to-be. You skin undergoes such a huge change during pregnancy I wanted to ensure I was using all the right stuff to keep my body and soul as maintained and soothed as possible, as well as being content in the knowledge that the products I was using were safe for me and baby.

I am nearly 28 weeks pregnant now and am fortunate enough to report that I haven't suffered from one stretch mark...yet. Of course, there is still time but even though I think part of it is genetics (my mum never experienced any either), I do like to think that the other half is down to the products I have been religiously slathering on bump and boobs since week 6 or 7 of pregnancy. So here is a little round up of some of the lovely mum-to-be products I have been using over the past few months, perfect for bump, body, baths and beyond.

First up is a trio of gorgeous Neal's Yard Remedies products from their Mothers range. Each are designed to keep stretching skin soft and supple as well as containing relaxing oils to de-stress tired mums and weary mums-to-be! Neal's Yard Remedies Mothers Massage Oil (£19.50) is a fine mix of neroli and mandarin oils as well as soya and almond oils for an intensively nourishing and uplifting treat. You can apply to damp or dry skin on any areas that you feel need a bit of elasticity-boosting or soothing. The beautifully fragrant scent creates a relaxing, aromatherapy-like aroma as you start to massage it in - you just need to find a willing partner to help ease those sore shoulders and back! Neal's Yard Remedies Mothers Bath Oil (£15) is a bath time treat and will scent your bathroom with a beautiful aroma of bergamot, ylang ylang, lavender and cardamom. It contains moisturising oils such as olive, almond and apricot so really work well as relaxing and nourishing your skin as you kick back, soak up the bubbles and enjoy some Netflix in the bath! Neal's Yard Remedies Mothers Balm (£20) is a solid balm that gloriously melts into a rich oil as you work it between your palms and onto your skin. It is intended to help prevent and minimise stretch marks by helping keep skin as elastic and supple as possible as well as soothing irritated skin as your bump continues to grow. It is fragrance-free and contains lots of lovely essential fatty acids such as almond and coconut oils and beeswax. This is definitely best applied at night time or as you step out the bath as it can feel a little greasy on your belly for a while before it all sinks in.

Next up is a range that I hadn't heard of before - Mama Mio which was born in 2005 as a side-line to the popular Mio body care brand. Their mission is to make us pregnant ladies feel as confident and happy as possible in their ever-changing skin and rumour has it that it has even become a Kardashian favourite as well. Mama Mio Gorgeous Glow balancing facial wash (£23) is a light, foaming facial wash that is gentle enough on pregnancy skin that may be sensitive or reactive. Free of any nasties and laden with lovely stuff such as tea tree extracts, lactic acid, organic evening primrose, sweet almond and avocado oils it is a great facial cleanser to moisture, nurture, balance and protect unpredictable skin throughout your pregnancy. This has handled my minor breakouts really well! Mama Mio Megamama super-rich Omega body lotion (£24.50) is a sumptuous all-over body lotion that smells divine and is a wonderful blend of organic Omega oils and powerful antioxidants to strengthen, nourish and pamper dry skin and is completely safe to use throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. Omegas and superfoods are vital to keep you strong from the inside out so this rich lotion is packed full of the good stuff to keep you healthy on the outside as well. Superfood Chia and Pumpkin Seeds nourish and help ease muscles whilst the Omegas plump the skin and help fake that natural pregnancy-glow! Mama Mio Goodbye Stretch Marks visible stretch mark minimiser (£45) certainly doesn't promise that you will be saying goodbye to stretch marks for good but it does offer us a powerful blend of peptides, fruit and algae extracts that helps improve the visible appearance of new and old stretch marks - hooray! With the additional of the swanky-sounding Seppicalm TM plant extract, this cream promises to improve the appearance and texture of stretch marks by lightening the pigmentation of stretch marks at their deepest level. To finish there is sweet almond oil which gives us anti-itch benefits so is perfect if you are starting to feel those dreaded stretch marks forming!

Pai Pomegranate & Pumpkin Seed Stretch Mark System (£45) is a two-step skincare regime offering you a hydrating cream (ideally for the morning) and a replenishing oil (for the evening). Between them they provide a full range of essential fatty acids to keep the skin soft and supple and aid skin cell regeneration to help fade stretch marks. This system is great if you are trying to avoid getting stretch marks during your pregnancy or actively trying to improve the appearance of current marks on your skin. It is wonderfully gentle and pure and free from any nasties that could irritate sensitive or sore skin. Vitamins E and C and plenty of Omegas are all here to help promote elasticity, minimise tearing and provide lasting skin nourishment. Apparently Natalie Portman is a huge fan and credits her lack of stretch marks to her long-term vegetarian diet and a daily slathering of the Pai Stretch Mark System. Well if it's good enough for Ms Portman...

Mum & Me Bump Relax & Unwind Bath Soak (£3.65) is the perfect excuse to make the most of some down time, pamper time in your bath tub before the baby arrives! It is a lovely milky solution that creates gentle, foaming bubbles with a delicate camomile and jasmine scent to help you relax and unwind. The added moisturisers and milk proteins nourish your skin beautifully and I genuinely step out the bath feeling all brand new and revived with silky soft skin!

If you are a mum or a mum-to-be and know of any must-have beauty products I need to try then please do let me know! :)

Three of my Favourite Cleansers

IMG_7302
IMG_7298
IMG_7306

When it comes to skincare, I can't help but feel a bit smug when I come across an awesome cleanser. A product that literally lifts away all your day's makeup in one no-nonsense swipe of a muslin cloth and leaves your skin feeling brand new, cleansed and revived. Well luckily for me I haven't just got one but three great cleansers on the go at the moment so I thought I would give you the lowdown on why these three lovelies have made it into my daily skincare regime.

Pai Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser* (£28) - This cleanser is the ideal choice if you suffer from dry, sensitive or reactive skin that needs a bit of loving attention. It is delicate and gentle but still effective enough and glides over the skin melting away the day's makeup and impurities. It is bursting with Omega 3 and all those great vitamins to ensure the skin's moisture barrier is replenished and left feeling soft and supple. Top tip, I love to slather this on whilst soaking in the bath as the wonderful blend of ingredients and creamy texture makes a great facial mask as well - it almost seems too nice to wash it off straight away anyway! With Pai skincare you can always be guaranteed to get something as natural as possible with a luxurious feel about it and this cleanser is no exception. The addition of Rose just makes it even better in my books and gives it a lovely soft scent whilst rejuvenating damaged or lacklustre skin. It comes with a handy muslin cloth and works really well with a Clarisonic (or whatever other oscillating, vibrating device you may have!).

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel* (£28) - Oskia skincare is always on point and this much-loved cleanser is another fantastic product that I was very happy to add to my collection. After a few pumps and a gentle warming action between your palms, this gel melts into a rich oily texture that feels luxurious and ridiculously good on your skin as you start to massage it in. The rosy-pink non-foaming gel not only cleanses but leaves you skin feeling plump, rejuvenated, brightened and...well as rosy and fresh as the gel itself. This cleanser favours a water wash-off rather than the need to reach for a muslin cloth and of course it is packed full of good things such as vitamins A,C and E and pumpkin enzymes to deep cleanse pores and exfoliate dead skin cells away.

Caudalie Make Up Removing Cleansing Oil* (£18) - Heralded a new generation of cleansing oil, this recently launched skincare product from Caudalie uses a completely natural formula yet is super effective on the most stubborn of makeup. Its loose, clear liquid-oil texture really does melt and dissolve every last scrap of makeup thanks to the sunflower seed and castor oil and can be safely used all over your eyes and lips without any fear of irritation. You can really feel the oil melt away that awkward waterproof mascara as you gently massage it in and then just a few wipes of a warm, damp muslin cloth leaves your skin beautifully fresh. Oh and did I mention it smells amazing?! The grape seed and sweet almond oil nourish the skin and give you a lingering scent of sweet cherry bakewell tarts. Heaven!

So there we have it! I would love to know which cleansers you could not live without?

Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion

IMG_5749
IMG_5757
Moisturising my body is one of those beauty routines that I just cannot skip! Hair can stay unwashed until tomorrow and I definitely don't always use toner and under-eye cream as much as I should- but when it come to moisturising my skin, I find myself doing this every evening without fail. Since becoming pregnant as well, this need to moisturise has only heightened as I find myself smothering myself in the good stuff in an attempt to avoid the slightest suggestion of a stretch mark. I am quite fussy though when it comes to my chosen cream or lotion but most recently I have been using, and loving, the Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion which comes with a handy pump-style dispenser and presented in simple, clean packaging.

The Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion (£5.10 for 200ml) contains colloidal oatmeal which seems to be quite the super ingredient in skincare at the moment. It soothes, hydrates, cleanses, protects and buffs the skin for an indulgent experience that won't leave you smelling of porridge...honest! The oats helps restore and protect the skin's natural barrier whilst soothing sensitive skin and restoring your natural pH levels. I love the fact it is fragrance-free too (my sense of smell has become very sensitive recently and I have definitely been put off some stronger scents) and is fast-absorbing and non-greasy so leaves your skin feeling nourished and not sticky! It is a great option to go for if you are after a natural lotion that will quickly sink in and soothe away any dry or rough skin whilst being wonderfully purse-friendly as well.

As well as giving their moisturising lotion a whirl, the team at Aveeno have invited me to take part in their #AveenoSkincareSecrets blogger challenge by sharing with you my top skincare secret and then tagging another beauty blogger who might like to get involved. Philosophy Renewed Hope in a Jar

Renewed hope in a jar moisturiser (£35.50) + renewed hope in a jar eye cream (£29.50) | available from Boots
The Philosophy philosophy: when you renew with hope, wishes come true.

When you think of the Philosophy brand you undoubtedly picture bubblegum-coloured bubble baths with cute names and sugary-sweet fragrances. However if you delve a little deeper into their range next time you are perusing the beauty aisles you will see that they also take their skincare very seriously. Back in 1996, Philosophy launched the hope in a jar moisturiser which swiftly became the fans favourite and has maintained a loyal following ever since. Its ground-breaking formula and inspiring words were a game-changer back in the day and the inaugural product from the hope in a jar range revolutionised the moisturiser market with its skin-loving, whipped consistency. Philosophy have now taken this skincare icon and given it a face lift. They have reimagined and refreshed this range and have introduced the renewed hope in a jar moisturiser and eye cream using the latest scientific advances to give the fans a new sensorial formula to get excited about! The philosophy ethos behind this new launch is simple: your spirit was created to thrive when given its own time of rest and renewal, so that clarity and calm can settle into their rightful spaces for the day. So too, for the skin. This range promises to keep skin in a constant state of renewal featuring proven non-stop skin renewal technology to give skin an all-day glow. In a nutshell philosophy have focussed on those key, three skincare wishes that most women want granting: One, refined texture with visibly smaller pores and fine lines lifted away. Two, soft, dewy smoothness and hydrated skin and three, re-energised healthy colour and glow.
With a wave of Philosophy’s magic wand and some added AHAs, Hyaluronic Acid and fruit and flower extracts, renewed hope in a jar could help makes those wishes come true. The alpha-hydroxy acids gently exfoliate the skin’s surface to improve fine lines and pore visibility whilst the hyaluronic acid locks in water for immediate hydration. The Asian fruit and prickly pear flower extract increases micro-circulation and brings a healthy colour and luminosity to the skin topped off with the micro-optics that help diffuse light providing a soft-focus effect. It might all sound too good to be true but with claims that 91% of women fell in love with the feel of their skin and 81% saw glowing skin immediately, it definitely had me intrigued!
The renewed hope in a jar eye cream is a whipped illuminating formula with the same skin renewal technology to help keep skin under the eye hydrated and healthy-looking. This cream is packed full of Asian fruit extract which energises tired eyes, algae extracts that brightens and reduces puffiness and yeast complex that smoothes the look of fine lines. I've really enjoyed using both these products over the last three or four weeks and think they would suit most skin types. They are slightly fragranced, nothing that offended me, but some might not like the subtle flowery scent. I particularly love the whipped light consistency that really sinks into your skin in a flash without any greasy residue or feeling overloaded. Used together they have definitely help keep my skin looking healthy and the under eye cream in particular feels like it has 'lifted' and smoothed the skin slightly making me look a lot more awake as I stumble into the bathroom in the mornings! All in all, a really nice duo of skincare products and definitely something worth checking out if you are in the market for a new moisturiser. Have you tried anything from the Philosophy skincare range?

Origins Mini Facial Brush & Rejuvenating Cleansing Milk

Origins Mini Facial Brush* (£5) | available from Debenhams and Feel Unique

Electronic facial cleansing brushes are everywhere at the moment. First came the Clarisonic, then came the cheaper alternatives and then several other duplicates filtered onto the market after that. But these high-tech whirling devices are not for everyone and sometimes it is quite nice to go back to basics and this is why Origins have released their new manual, soft-bristled Facial Cleansing Brush for a mere five pounds. In conjunction with their mini facial program that they are offering in stores; a complimentary 20 minute service that includes a 1-to-1 consultation, gentle dermabrasion and skincare advice, this colourful tool helps you achieve all the benefits of that mini facial at home, in your own time.

This new cleansing brush has the softest of bristles and helps maximise your cleanser's benefits by sloughing away dull cells to reveal cleaner, healthier and brighter looking skin. I love to use it once a week with my Origins Make a Difference Rejuvenating Cleansing Milk - a match made in skincare heaven! This cleansing milk literally melts away the most stubborn of makeup along with all the other debris and dirt from the day leaving your skin feeling radiant and replenished. Once I have applied the cleanser all over my face I slightly dampen the mini facial brush and gently swirl it over my skin in small circular motions, avoiding the delicate eye area. I find it really helps cleanse the skin thoroughly and helps combat any dry patches that I sometimes suffer from down my nose and along my jawline. It is a great little addition to have tucked away in your skincare cupboard for when your skin needs an extra brightening boost and for £5, it is certainly a cheaper alternative to those fancy oscillating devices!

Vichy Pureté Thermale Cleansing Range

New in! Vichy's Purete Thermale Skincare Range* | available from Boots

Cleansing has become quite the 'it' word in the world of beauty over the last few years and skincare fanatics are all too aware that a thorough cleanse-tone-moisturise system is a surefire step towards healthy, happy, glowing skin.

Vichy is one of those brands that I trust when it comes to skincare and rightly so considering they boast over 80 years experience and expertise in caring for women's skin. With so many skincare brands and bold claims on the market at one time it can be a bit overwhelming to choose the right products that will benefit your skin and fit in with your lifestyle which is why Vichy has released some new additions and some re-branded favourites from their popular Purete Thermale range. This collection of cleansers, toners, scrubs and micellar water prove to be quick yet effective for us busy women who are after a fast fix in the morning yet maybe a more leisurely cleansing ritual in the evening.

The three products I have recently added to my skincare routine are the Cleansing Micellar Solution (£12), the 3 in 1 Cleanser (12) and finally a new Cleansing Gel (£12). All are suitable for all skin types, but specifically gentle on sensitive skin, and help to protect your complexion from hard water that can deposit limescale on to the skin - causing drying and irritation.

The Cleansing Micellar Solution is a great non-aggressive step to effectively remove all stubborn makeup and impurities without irritating the skin. Simply douse the light liquid onto a cotton wool pad and sweep over your skin to leave it feeling supple and smooth. I do like to always have a micellar water on the go and I particularly like this one as it leaves you skin feeling refreshed without any greasy residue. The New Cleansing Gel is an innovative anti-pollution expert cleanser which frees the skin of impurities and pollutants. It is enriched with Glycerin and Mooring to deeply cleanse and protects cells from pollution nasties and the gel formula gently foams up when rinsed with water leaving the skin fresh, clear and soft. I have never been much a fan of gel-based cleansers but this one has won me over - it is quick and efficient and perfect for a morning cleanse to awaken the skin. Finally we have the 3 in 1 Cleanser which is the ultimate quick yet effective step in a busy women's regime. This creamy solution is a multi-purpose cream and contains everything you need to cleanse, tone and remove a full face of makeup. The fresh, no-rinse texture (just massage on and wipe off with cotton pad/cloth) doesn't leave the skin feeling oily or sticky in any way and does get rid of pretty much every scrap of makeup without drying my skin out. With one sold every 20 seconds across the world I can definitely see why this is a firm favourite for many!

Do you like the sound of this new range from Vichy?

Caudalie Polyphenol [C15] Skincare Range

Cadaulie's new Polyphenol [C15] Skincare Range* | available from Caudalie
A few years ago the prospect of trying out a brand new range of skincare from such a trusted brand as Caudalie would not have got me half as excited as it does now! Despite my skin being pretty much the same as it was when I started blogging, give or take a few jawline breakouts, my love and interest in skincare as a whole has grown and grown with a collection that could now possibly rival my makeup stash.

When a skincare range is given the nod of approval from skincare guru Caroline Hirons herself you know you are in for a treat so I was ridiculously excited to slather on the new Polyphenol c15 range immediately and I have been enjoying the products ever since. Comprising of five key products for the skin, eye and lip areas, the Polyphenol c15 range is all about anti-oxidation, aimed for busy women on the go seeking effective and powerful products. Our skin is constantly exposed to those harsh external factors that generate free radicals, think sunshine, cigarettes, pollution and diet to name but a few, and these trigger oxidation with our body. Oxidation equals dehydrated skin, a dull complexion, premature ageing and, sorry ladies,...those dreaded wrinkles! The Polyphenol c15 range from Caudalie seeks to fight this oxidation with three expert treatments that continuously recharge the skin to boost its youth, on the surface and at the deepest levels. First up is Caudalie's exclusive stabilised Grape-seed Polyphenols - the most powerful anti-oxidants in the plant world. Team this with top-performing vitamin, Vitamin C and everyone's favourite skin plumper, Hyaluronic Acid your skin will be smooth, radiant and protected from free radicals in an instant.

The five products that make up this new, and pretty fantastic, range are the Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum, Overnight Detox Oil, Broad Spectrum Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid and Cream and finally the Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream. I love the smart, sleek packaging of this Caudalie range and the fact the cream and fluid also contain SPF20 to rev up the protection for during the day. I would be hard pushed to highlight a favourite from this new collection but I particularly love the overnight oil for an indulgent bedtime treat and also the lip and eye cream as I love a multi-functional product that combats dark circles and relieves dry lips.

With the Polyphenol C15 products ranging from £26 - £35 they are a really affordable yet highly effective skincare range to invest in and it will beautifully plump, smooth and protect your skin from the everyday threat of oxidation and prolong the appearance of those unfavourable wrinkles - hooray!
