The Patterned Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit from H&M | Kate Spade Sunglasses* from SmartBuyGlasses | Sandals from New Look

Playsuits have swiftly become my number one pregnancy wardrobe staple over the past month or so and I would happily live in them 24/7 if I could (when I'm not wearing sports bras and yoga pants!) So when I spotted this gorgeous patterned number in H&M a few weeks ago I knew I had to add it to my collection. It is beautifully cut with a deep V front, soft floaty sleeves, nipped waist with a sweet tie and slightly tapered legs. The material is just so that it is comfortable enough to wear in the Summer but will actually keep me quite warm during the Autumn so will hopefully be a useful transition piece as the bump starts to grow.

As for my new sunglasses, I am rather smitten with these gorgeous oversized Kate Spade glasses with their retro design and rose-pink colouring. I think I could have spent hours and hours shopping for sunnies on this website considering they literally stock every brand you could think of and break them down by style, best sellers and new collections in. They also do normal glasses, prescription sunglasses and contact lenses too so all your eyewear needs are sorted in one simple click! I have a little obsession over sunglasses I think and ever since booking our trip to Santorini last week, I have been on the look out for a new pair of shades to take away with me so was over the moon when I spotted these online. Seven more days and we will be touching down on the idyllic Greek island and  I cannot wait. Bring on the sunshine...and the feta cheese!!

A Pop of Pastel

GAP Shirt | Jamie Jeans TOPSHOP | Oasis Chunky Sandals
Mulberry Bayswater Clutch | Accessorize Collar Necklace

Sometimes the simplest outfits are truly the best and recently I have been loving a classic, crisp white shirt paired with skinny jeans for an effortless, lazy weekend look. I always find GAP a brilliant choice for when you need to stock up on your basic items - all your vest top, camisole and cardigan needs are sorted here and it was my first port of call when an oversized, boyfriend shirt was top of my shopping list.

The best thing about having a blank canvas such as a simple shirt and jeans combo is the option to add a contrasting pop of colour to your outfit with your accessories which gave me the perfect excuse to take my beautiful new bag out for its first excursion. I love the fresh, lemon shade against the clean white denim and it certainly adds a little bit of sunshine to an outfit even on a cloudy day!

A Grey Day

Sometimes a grey day just calls for a grey outfit so I opted for this lovely polo neck and organza pleated skirt combo from the slightly brighter sounding brand, Blue Vanilla. With the days turning chillier I have overloaded my wardrobe recently with turtle necks and pretty knitwear to see me through the Winter months. The lace panel polo neck from Blue Vanilla is actually part of a co-ordinates set which comes with a lace tube grey skirt as well. I love this cropped polo neck which is perfect when paired with high waisted jeans or a full skirt and is a nice, fine knit so can be layered with blazers, chic jackets or cardigans. Polo necks can be a bit basic sometimes so I love the addition of this pretty lace panel at the front which makes it that little bit different.

The gorgeous midi organza pleated skirt made me feel like an extra from Grease! You only need to scan through a few of my previous outfit posts to see that I love a full, swishy skirt - always perfect whether worn with tights and chunky boots or a fancy top and a pair of Vivienne Westwood heels for a night. So versatile and with three other colour options I think I may have to stock up!

Knee-highs and skinny jeans

IMG_9437
Today Rob and I popped to Westfield Stratford to have a little mooch and for me to start my Winter wardrobe shopping. As the mornings have started to feel an awful lot chillier recently it has come to my attention that I am seriously lacking in warm layers, chunky jumpers and puddle-proof footwear. After a little wander around H&M and Topshop came up trumps with their AW collections and I bought a few new pieces which I am excited to wear as we welcome in the Winter season, including a wonderfully fluffy gilet and some snug woolly jumpers. Whilst taking a minute to admire the beautiful space that is the Mulberry store at Westfield I thought I would get Rob to take a snap of my outfit today as I was feeling very happy (and a little pirate-like) in my new H&M over-the-knee boots and jazzy jacket, also from H&M. My jeans are the fabulous Jamie jeans from Topshop (I think I have these in every colour!) and my bag is my gorgeous wedding present from Rob, the Mulberry Willow tote, which I simply adore.

I hope you have all had lovely weekends. Have you bought anything recently for your Winter wardrobe?

Silk Skirt

There is nothing like a full skirt on a sunny day to give you a spring in your step and this beautiful Pink Palace Skirt* from Hobbs is an absolute dream with an amazing swish-able quality! Inspired by the luxurious materials found in the lavish Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection at Hampton Court Palace, this A-line skirt is crafted from soft silk and wool blend and cuts an elegant, feminine silhouette. I adore the delicate way the skirt hangs and ripples and the muted pearly-champagne hue is just perfect for a Summer's day. I wore my scallop-edged camisole from Topshop and my H&M wedges to complete the look and went for my favourite hairstyle of the moment - the Heidi braids, to keep my neck cool on yesterday's balmy day. I think this skirt would also look particularly pretty with my latest shoe purchase too!

I hope you are well and enjoying the sunshine this week.

Vivienne Westwood + Melissa Lady Dragon Gold Bow heels

So...the obsession continues. Fourth pair in and I still cannot get enough of these plastic fantastic heels from Vivienne Westwood for Melissa. That Barbie doll-sweet smell, the colourful bows and hearts, the surprisingly comfy fit - the is no denying that they are a love/hate kind of piece but I love love love them. My latest acquisition came from the fortunate discovery of the Office sale last week although I think Selfridges online have some of the older styles on sale too at the moment. These gold bow lady dragon heels won my heart over the moment I saw them and I instantly thought, could these be my wedding shoes? Only time will tell (two weeks to be precise) but they will certainly be getting a lot of love nonetheless and are welcome additions to my slightly-overflowing shoe collection now!

This weekend the sun shone and it was blissful. I decided to wear my new playsuit* from Warehouse and take a stroll along the country lanes and fields with Rob and admire the beautiful surroundings where our wedding will take place in just under four weeks time! I adore this new Warehouse white scalloped playsuit with its light woven material, culotte style shorts and pretty scalloped sleeves and mid section. it is lovely and loose and wonderfully flattering whether worn with wedges or heels for a night out or sandals and a floral crown for the upcoming festival season. I opted for my aqua blue wedges from New Look and an old statement necklace from Accessorize and loved how the pops of colour worked against the neutral piece. And the greatest thing about this playsuit is that the top section is a separate part so can be removed and paired with skinny jeans or cute denim shorts for a whole new look! Perfect.

Have you been enjoying the sunshine this weekend? Have you bought anything recently from Warehouse?

Sunny Sunday

Dress - Urban Outfitters
Wedges - H&M

Another sunny day, another floral dress! I saw this old Urban Outfitters number lurking in the back of my wardrobe the other day and thought it would be the perfect attire for a lazy Sunday sunning ourselves with friends in a pub garden, doing a spot wedding planning and generally being out and about enjoying the glorious sunshine. I hope you all had really great weekend and just to let you know that there is a little sneak peek from our engagement shoot we had on Friday up on our wonderful photographer's blog is you fancy a look! I am so happy with it and seeing this gorgeous image has made be even more excited for our happy day in less than 9 weeks now! The single figure countdown has begun...

Well, what a lovely weekend we have had! The weather over the past few days has been a real treat and Rob and I have truly made the most of the sunshine, heading out antiques shopping, up to Wells for our engagement shoot and out today with friends basking in a pub garden. This the outfit I wore yesterday for a day treasure hunting at a local antiques centre. I really love the clean colours paired with the pop of colour on my feet thanks to these gorgeous new t-bar wedges from New Look. Very pretty and actually very comfortable too! My swish shades are courtesy of the Sunglasses Shop and are my new love. Last year it was all about the Ray Ban aviators and Wayfarers but the Clubmasters are definitely the new kids on the block and are uber cool. I love the modern mirrored lenses, edged with a striking gold rim, juxtaposed against the vintage-looking, tortoiseshell frames and 60s shape. Perfect to add a retro touch to any outfit this Summer!

Giveaway: If you fancy getting your mitts on a pair of Ray Ban frames of your choice (up to £125) then simply take a look at the Ray Bans available from Sunglasses Shop, give their Facebook page a thumbs up and leave a comment on their page detailing which pair of shades you would like to win. Sunglasses Shop will contact the winner in two weeks. Good luck ladies!

Vivien of Holloway 50s Floral Circle Dress

IMG_1470
IMG_1474
IMG_1440

Vivien of Holloway floral circle dress
available online or from their Holloway Road store

When I was young and living at home, I remember the very day my mum came home one day clutching her first Vivien of Holloway circle dress I at first glance, I was in awe. In fact, I completely blame my mother for my love of florals and all things vintage-inspired from decor to clothing. Vivien of Holloway recreate signature 50s style garments with all the authentic vintage charm of the era and are proudly made and stocked in London and online. I have always adorned the 50s halterneck circle dresses and decided that with a few summer weddings and an engagement shoot coming up, it was high time I treated myself to one of my own.

The store on Holloway Road is a treasure trove for all things floral, polka dotted and cherry printed with some lovely fresh ginghams and cupcake dresses hanging on the rails as well. With bunting adorning the changing rooms and deliciously fluffy petticoats floating above you from the top rails it is a grown ups dressing up box and it was hard to leave with just one dress! Having spotted my China Rose Pink dress online before my visit I knew this was my favourite one but wanted to get an idea of sizing so went to the store to try it on. It is worth noting that Vivien of Holloway dresses use authentic sizing so they do not mirror those found on the high street which is why I wanted to be sure and give the dress a twirl before I bought. I am usually a dress size 6-8 and the smallest size they offer fitted me perfectly - bar the halterneck being a bit too big but a quick visit to my mum's who is a whizz on the old sewing machine soon sorted this out! But I couldn't leave without purchasing a petticoat to go under my circle dress which is a must to give the skirt that full effect and to add a multitude of soft pastel layers to peek and tease as you walk and twirl. I decided on the cream petticoat to go with my floral dress and the contrast of shades is utterly beautiful and I am so excited to wear it this week at our friends' seaside wedding in Cornwall. I hope to share an outfit post from the day on my blog when I'm back but if you follow me on instagram (pinkpixiedoll) then you can see a sneak peek of the dress and petticoat in all their floral glory!

Floral jacket

Jacket - Primark
Jeans - Topshop
Tee - Topshop
Belt - H&M
Shoes - New Look

Just a little outfit from the recent Bank Holiday weekend which was spent enjoying the bright sunny weather, spending time with our families and avoiding the temptation to reach for that second bag of mini eggs of the day! On Monday we spent the afternoon Easter egg hunting and playing garden games with the children and I decided to wear my favourite floral jacket for the occasion. I picked this up last Summer actually and it is the perfect transitional piece to sling over a summer dress or pair with jeans to give an outfit an injection of colour. Here's hoping Primark brings out a similar option again this season, fingers crossed!

I hope you all had a lovely, chocolate-filled weekend. :)

Brighton rocks

photo

Kimono | H&M
Lace top | Primark
MOM jeans | Topshop
Boots | H&M
Sunglasses | Topshop
Bag | LV Speedy 35

Just a little outfit post from my day out in Brighton today. Rob and I drove down to the coast to spend the day rummaging for trinkets in The Lanes, eating stacks of pancakes at Bill's and generally enjoying the sea breeze and rows of pastel-coloured houses along the seafront. I wore my MOM jeans from Topshop which have been my failsafe trouser option ever since I got them last year and slung on my kimono (from a while ago) and my ever so comfy boots also from H&M, to set me up for a day of strolling and sight-seeing. It was a jolly good way to spend our Bank Holiday and I cannot recommend a trip down to Brighton enough if you are after some unique fashion and homeware shops and some glorious vegetarian eateries - Terre a Terre is the best!

I hope you have all had a lovely Bank Holiday and are looking forward to an eggs-cellent Easter... (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Jumper - Topshop
Floral skirt - Topshop
 Boots - Primark
Bag - Louis Vuitton Speedy 35

Today Rob and I went up to watch the London Marathon to support a few friends and cheer on the thousand of other runners all valiantly completing the 26.2 miles and inspiring many others along the way. I am fortunate enough to have run the London Marathon before and it really is the most amazing thing I have ever experienced and watching the masses filter down the Embankment towards the finish today really made me want to run it all again. So tomorrow morning I will be signing up one more time for a place in 2015 (fingers crossed!) I wore my new floral skirt from Topshop which works perfectly with tights on breezy days like today but will be great with bare legs and heels for hazy Summer evenings too. This cropped sherbet-lemon jumper has been a favourite of mine ever since I got it a few weeks ago - ideal for adding a pop of colour to any outfit and looking super cute with high-waisted jeans and skirts. I think they also had it in baby blue and pink so I might have to add a few other shades to my wardrobe...

I hope you have all had lovely Sundays and congratulations to anyone who ran or knew someone who was running in the London Marathon today!

Meet me in Paris

photo

Boucle jacket - Miss Selfridge
Tee - Topshop
Jeans - GAP
Boots - H&M
Bag - Louis Vuitton Speedy 35
Sunglasses - Ray-Ban Wayfarers

Just a quick outfit post from my weekend away in Paris. My mum and I travelled to the French capital to support my little brother, Freddie, and Rob in the Paris marathon which they ran on Sunday and both did amazingly well in. I felt so proud of them as they completed the tough 26.2 miles along the cobbled streets and tree-lined paths of Paris and felt so happy to be back in this gorgeous city to support them whilst taking full advantage of the cafe culture at the same time! The weather was absolutely glorious over the weekend so was lucky enough to get by with just a simple tee and light jacket during the day. I saw this boucle jacket in Miss Selfridge last week and instantly knew I needed it (and the matching shorts) for my trip to Paris. Well, if you can't wear a Chanel-esque jacket whilst in Paris then when can you?!

I hope you are all well and had lovely weekends too.

Celebrations in the city

photo
photo

Cropped jumper - Topshop
Skirt - Topshop
Bag - LV Speedy 35
Shoes - Primark

Yesterday Rob and I ventured to London to finish off my weekend of birthday celebrations with a spot of shopping, some rooftop cocktails and plenty of pancake consumption. We headed to The Breakfast Club in Spitalfields in the morning and after the obligatory queuing around the corner we sat down for a feast of avocado and poached egg on toast for Rob and pancakes and berries for me (although Rob did have to finish my epic portion off for me!).

Fully satiated we wandered around the stalls in Spitalfields before walking over to Soho to idle away the afternoon strolling along the set back streets, perusing the beauty hall in Selfridges and finishing the day off with a cocktail on the rooftop of Aqua bar on Argyll Street. The weather was so lovely yesterday I decided to punt for a fairly summery outfit pairing my cropped pink jumper with my beautiful textured skirt both from Topshop and some coral wedges from Primark. I don't think I will ever get bored of visiting and exploring London and it was the perfect day out to finish off my slightly extended birthday celebrations!

I hope you are all well and had terrific weekends.

Birthday Outfit

IMG_9897

Peach wrap dress* - LOVE
Heels - Primark
Clutch - Accessorize

Today is my birthday!! I can't believe I am the grand age of twenty-eight as I still feel like my sixteen year old self inside and take solace in the fact I still get ID'd and haven't had to reach for the anti-ageing cream just yet! I have just returned from a lovely birthday meal out with Rob starting off with a perfectly-mixed French Martini in our favourite bar and spent the night reminiscing about this time last year where we were celebrating my birthday on a deserted beach in New Zealand and my day was completed by a tear-filled proposal at sunset. More juicy details on that story can be found here!
Despite the rather nippy wind I decided to wear my new peach wrap dress from In Love With Fashion which is a perfect transitional piece, not too short, billowed long sleeves and a flattering cinched waist. Paired with my pastel-bright heels from Primark and a simple plaited undo, I felt ready to celebrate my birthday in peachy style!

I hope you have all had a good week and thank you to everyone who has wished me happy birthday today on twitter or my instagram (pinkpixiedoll) - I appreciate and loved every single message.

A Spring Fashion Haul

All items from Topshop
(except the yellow lace cigarette pants - River Island)

Following a rather ruthless wardrobe clear out the other week I felt it was high time to go on a shopping spree and introduce some Spring pastels and Summer patterns into my now rather depleted clothing collection. The shopping mecca of Topshop was calling me so Rob and I headed to Oxford Street last Sunday and I ended up picking up some lovely tops and trousers that I had been coveted for some time. With my love of floral patterns and candy-coloured knits, Spring Summer is undoubtedly my favourite fashion season and I could have got very carried on Oxford Street that day with all the pretty cropped jumpers, full skirts and cigarette pants that are out at the moment! But with a little restraint, here are the pieces that I picked up and am ridiculously excited to style and wear this season. I just need a little glimpse of sunshine now please...!
