Jo Malone White Lilac & Rhubarb Charity Candle

White Lilac & Rhubarb Charity Candle* (£42) | from Jo Malone
a candle with a conscience
The scent of rhubarb is such an instantly recognisable and wholeheartedly British scent it always remind me of that bubbling sweet crumble in the oven or those sugar-dusted boiled sweets, half rhubarb half custard, from the old fashioned sweet shop. Take that tart, vibrant scent of rhubarb and lace it with the powdery aroma of white lilac and sensual rose and you are in for a divine treat. Jo Malone have discovered this gorgeous unison of scents and have created a limited edition candle which will calmly carry you away to an English garden at the start of Summer.

The tranquility and escapism that a garden can offer is undeniable; the limitless green space, colourful flowers and natural surroundings are wonderfully powerful at creating solace and hope, especially to those living in deprived and vulnerable situations. Jo Malone have been known supporters of community garden projects, here and in America, for many years now - donating funds and volunteering help to revitalising green areas into peaceful sanctuaries for those suffering from mental or physical illness. So far Jo Malone have supported such developments in London, Edinburgh, New York, Dallas, Liverpool and Bristol with the latest transformation, the Art Garden in Manchester, being created as we speak. To continue raising funds for these charities Jo Malone are donating the full RRP of each White Lilac & Rhubarb candle sold to carry on helping these amazing causes do such a brilliant job, caring for the gardens as well as cultivating new ones.

As the weather is getting warmer there is nothing I love more than sitting outside, on my lunch break or on a balmy evening, and simply enjoying the scents and the sounds. A garden is so tranquil, so relaxing so I think this is such a great charity project to get behind and support. And for those days when the weather isn't quite so appealing simply snuggle up and light the White Lilac & Rhubarb candle and within seconds you will feel like you are wandering through your very own English country garden.

Cadaulie's new Polyphenol [C15] Skincare Range* | available from Caudalie
A few years ago the prospect of trying out a brand new range of skincare from such a trusted brand as Caudalie would not have got me half as excited as it does now! Despite my skin being pretty much the same as it was when I started blogging, give or take a few jawline breakouts, my love and interest in skincare as a whole has grown and grown with a collection that could now possibly rival my makeup stash.

When a skincare range is given the nod of approval from skincare guru Caroline Hirons herself you know you are in for a treat so I was ridiculously excited to slather on the new Polyphenol c15 range immediately and I have been enjoying the products ever since. Comprising of five key products for the skin, eye and lip areas, the Polyphenol c15 range is all about anti-oxidation, aimed for busy women on the go seeking effective and powerful products. Our skin is constantly exposed to those harsh external factors that generate free radicals, think sunshine, cigarettes, pollution and diet to name but a few, and these trigger oxidation with our body. Oxidation equals dehydrated skin, a dull complexion, premature ageing and, sorry ladies,...those dreaded wrinkles! The Polyphenol c15 range from Caudalie seeks to fight this oxidation with three expert treatments that continuously recharge the skin to boost its youth, on the surface and at the deepest levels. First up is Caudalie's exclusive stabilised Grape-seed Polyphenols - the most powerful anti-oxidants in the plant world. Team this with top-performing vitamin, Vitamin C and everyone's favourite skin plumper, Hyaluronic Acid your skin will be smooth, radiant and protected from free radicals in an instant.

The five products that make up this new, and pretty fantastic, range are the Anti-Wrinkle Defense Serum, Overnight Detox Oil, Broad Spectrum Anti-Wrinkle Protect Fluid and Cream and finally the Anti-Wrinkle Eye and Lip Cream. I love the smart, sleek packaging of this Caudalie range and the fact the cream and fluid also contain SPF20 to rev up the protection for during the day. I would be hard pushed to highlight a favourite from this new collection but I particularly love the overnight oil for an indulgent bedtime treat and also the lip and eye cream as I love a multi-functional product that combats dark circles and relieves dry lips.

With the Polyphenol C15 products ranging from £26 - £35 they are a really affordable yet highly effective skincare range to invest in and it will beautifully plump, smooth and protect your skin from the everyday threat of oxidation and prolong the appearance of those unfavourable wrinkles - hooray!

A Pop of Pastel

GAP Shirt | Jamie Jeans TOPSHOP | Oasis Chunky Sandals
Mulberry Bayswater Clutch | Accessorize Collar Necklace

Sometimes the simplest outfits are truly the best and recently I have been loving a classic, crisp white shirt paired with skinny jeans for an effortless, lazy weekend look. I always find GAP a brilliant choice for when you need to stock up on your basic items - all your vest top, camisole and cardigan needs are sorted here and it was my first port of call when an oversized, boyfriend shirt was top of my shopping list.

The best thing about having a blank canvas such as a simple shirt and jeans combo is the option to add a contrasting pop of colour to your outfit with your accessories which gave me the perfect excuse to take my beautiful new bag out for its first excursion. I love the fresh, lemon shade against the clean white denim and it certainly adds a little bit of sunshine to an outfit even on a cloudy day!

What looks are you currently loving for Spring Summer?

Mulberry Bayswater Clutch Wallet in Camomile

Whether it be shoes, bags or makeup encased in that alluring gold packaging, everyone has their weaknesses! Unfortunately for me I think it might be all three but possibly at the top of that list would be those lovely, come-hither-and-stroke-me handbags, and it always seems to be Mulberry that tempts me the most. I love the brand and always find myself, somewhat dangerously, avidly admiring their new collections and lusting after pretty much everything from the website.

Last week my Mum and I headed to London for a belated birthday trip out together as she had treated me to tickets to see the ballet, La Fille Mal Gardée, at the Royal Opera House. Finding ourselves just off New Bond Street as we walked down towards Covent Garden I couldn't help to pop into the flagship Mulberry store...just to have a look! Famous last words eh?! I was initially looking for a new purse but when I saw the Mulberry Bayswater Clutch Wallet in Camomile it seemed perfect, ticking all the right boxes - small and compact enough to use as a wallet but equally suited as a clutch bag with its delicate chain strap and zip and slot compartments. And as for the colour it was a tough decision between the camomile and the stunning hibiscus shade but the sweet, sunshine-yellow won! I don't think you could get a more perfect shade for Spring Summer time and I knew it would feel right at home nestled amongst my soft, pastel wardrobe. Oooh, isn't she pretty!

Essie Mint Candy Apple Nail Polish

IMG_3262
Essie Mint Candy Apple is one of those cult nail polishes that has been in my collection for many years now. This classic minty-green shade is such a popular polish and one that has been imitated time and time again but never duplicated. It is a beautiful, creamy pastel green with hints of blue undertones, making it more of a milky-aqua shade than a true mint green. Nonetheless it is a gorgeous polish and couldn't be more perfect for a Springtime manicure. Fresh, pretty and opaque in two quick coats you know Summer is on its way when you start to see this delicate minty shade blossoming on my fingertips.

What is your favourite polish to pick when you want to give your nails a touch of mint?

Pancakes at The Breakfast Club

If I had the choice to dine out for breakfast, lunch or dinner every day for a year I would, without a doubt, pick breakfast! Labelled as the most important meal of the day breakfast really has got it all...fancy fruit, bircher muesli, eggs any way you fancy, pancakes, waffles, French toast, muffins, all washed down with a freshly-brewed pot of Earl Grey tea - it is a satiable feast whether you are craving savoury or sweet. So whenever I am in London and have a hankering for fluffy pancakes or a hearty bowl of porridge topped with a healthy handful of nuts and berries then there is only one place to head - The Breakfast Club.

Quirky, fun and full of character with a menu packed full of lip-licking options, The Breakfast Club is one of my favourite places to go with a group of friends to cure those early morning hunger pangs over some banana French toast or a breakfast burrito. Whenever I am out for breakfast my eyes will instantly dart to the pancakes on offer so needless to say that the pancakes with berries is my favourite dish to order once seated at The Breakfast Club. The serving is ridiculously huge, so much so that I can barely ever manage one and a half pancakes (and I skip the buttery-cream topping), but boy oh boy are they good! Some of the fluffiest, finest pancakes I have ever had the pleasure of sampling and enough to rival some of the epic breakfasts we feasted on in New York.

With many locations dotted around the capital from Soho and Camden to Angel and Hoxton Square, it is the perfect place to "do brunch" on a lazy weekend morning. All you need is a few friends and a hearty appetite and I promise you will leave very happy. But if breakfast isn't really your thing then pop along to the Spitalfields restaurant at sunset, open wide the innocent-looking Smeg fridge door and head downstairs to the secret basement bar for a speakeasy experience over a cocktail or two!
