Brogues: a style of low-heeled shoe or boot traditionally characterized by multiple-piece, sturdy leather uppers with decorative perforations (or "brogueing") and serration along the pieces' visible edges.
I have been harbouring after a pair of brogues for a while now. My wardrobe was rather disparaging without them, and my outfits were lacking a certain je ne sais quoi.
I sourced this perfect pair from River Island. They aren't leather but this doesn't concern me with a pair of shoes that will probably be cast to the depths of fashion redundancies this time next year.

I love the style of these shoes. I think the buttery-brown colour is so rich and Autumnal and goes idyllically with so many outfits. I wore them today with black tights, a tube skirt paired with a silk blouse. But they also marry perfectly with harems, floaty dresses and lace ankle socks.
I really like the hook-and-eye detailing, giving the shoes an authentic touch and the cute chintzy floral lining offers a sweet finishing flair to the brogues.
I just love them and am toe-tapping my merry way through the golden glisten of the fallen leaves.

I got some at a 'decent' price but mine scuffed so bad, so I'm going to get some brown ones but they are a little expensive depending where you get them. But i think their really cute and go with anything!
These are just gorgeous! I love the floral lining! Unfortunately as much as I'd love to I'd never be able to pull these off! I have really thick legs so as soon as my little ankles get hidden I just look like an elephant! Mighty jealous! xx
PS. I have two pairs of Office low brogues in black and tan! I managed to get them off eBay though, both leather, hopefully timeless! x

I really want a pair of Brogues but along with others im scared I cant pull them off, plus im soooooo rubbish at putting outfits together I wouldnt even know what to wear them with...Ive seen what you have suggested so I will give it a go...wish me luck xxx
